House Cleaning Services Kansas CityAreas You Can Clean in One Hour
Whether you live in a two- or a six-bedroom home, getting your home as clean and organized as you would like can be a challenge. Like any project, the key is to break the task up into smaller, more manageable chunks that can fit into your schedule.
Get Your House Clean One Corner at a Time
There is always one area of the house that requires more attention and bothers you more than others. For some people, it can be a messy bathroom or a cluttered kitchen counter or sink full of dishes. But you don’t have to wait until there is enough time to get to the whole house. Starting with something as small as clearing out a messy drawer or cabinet or organizing a desk can bring calm, peace of mind and a sense of order until you are ready to move on the next task.
If you’re not sure where to begin, consider starting with some of the most common and small housekeeping and organizing tasks and work your way up from there:
Bring Order to Your Vanity
Start by clearing away and throwing out old perfume bottles, makeup, empty tissue boxes or anything that may be taking up space and adding to the unnecessary clutter. If you don’t have one, consider investing in an organizer to keep everything tidy on your vanity in between cleaning days. But if that seems like a project in and of itself – simply cleaning off the mirror is a great way to freshen up the space and get some cleaning in.
Tackle Kitchen Clutter
The kitchen is often the place in the home where people tend to spend the most time outside of the living or family room. From piles of bills, newspaper and magazines to food and cooking utensils and supplies, kitchen clutter can build up and become unmanageable quickly. Depending on the size of your kitchen and the magnitude of clutter, divide it into sections and pick one corner at a time:
- Clear the table and counters
- Clear the sink/dishwasher
- Put away all dish/glassware
- Remove anything that doesn’t technically “belong” in the kitchen
- Clean the refrigerator
Freshen Up Your Bed
Everyone from military leaders to Martha Stewart live by the code of making your bed every day. If you do nothing else or are unsure where to begin, change your sheets for a fresh pair and make the bed.
Deep Clean These Major Dust Collectors
No matter how often you clean your house or how uncluttered and minimalistic your design and decor, dust can (and often does) collect and pile up everywhere! But you don’t have to undertake a massive deep cleaning in one session to fight the dust bunnies and keep your house clean and free from accumulated dust. If you only have an hour or are looking for a good starting point to get the ball rolling, consider freshening up some of the dustiest spots in most homes:
- Ceiling fans
- Window panes/window sills
- Under the bed/furniture
Brushes, a bucket, and warm soap and water are good tools for loosening and clearing off accumulated pockets of dust.
